Poker hands – poker cards

Check out all possible poker hands:

Straight Flush:
A Straight Flush consits of five consecutive cards of the same symbole. If there is more than one poker player with a straight flush, the player with the highest straigth flush wins.
A straight flush consisting ace, king, queen, jack, ten and nine is the best possible poker hand and it’s called Royal Flush.

Example for Straight Flush:
queen, jack, 10, 9, 8 of the same symbol

Four of a kind:
A “four of a kind” consists of four cards of the same value. If there is more than one player with a “four of a kind”, the player with the highest “four of a kind” wins.

Example for a „four of a kind“:
7, 7, 7, 7, 9

Full House:
A Full House consists of three cards of the same value („three of a kind“) and two cards of the same value (pair).
If there are two or more players with a full house, the player with the higher “three of a kind” will win.

Example for a full house:
Jack, Jack, Jack, 7, 7

Flush:
A flush is a card combination of five suited cards with the same symbol. The flush with the highest card wins; if 2 players have a flush the one with the highest card wins.

Example for a Flush:
king, jack, 7, 6, 5 of the same symbol

Straight:
A straight is a poker hand consisting of 5 cards whose ranks form a sequence. If there is more than one player with a straight, the one with the highest straight wins.

Example for a straight:
king, queen, jack, 10, 9 (without respecting the symbol)

Three of a kind:
I „three of a kind“ consists of 3 cards of the same value.
If there is more than one poker player with a „three of a kind“, the player with the higher „three of a kind“ wins.

Example for a three of a kind:
8, 8, 8, ace, 9

two pair:
“Two pair” means, that a poker hand consist of two different pairs. If there is more than one player with two pair, the player with the higher pair wins.
 
Example for two pair:
queen, queen, 7, 7, king

a pair:
A pair consists of two cards of the same value. If there are more players who have a pair, the higher pair wins. If two players have a pair of the same value, the hand with the highest card besides the pair wins.

Example for a pair:
8, 8, king, 10, 7

High Card:
If there is no poker player with one of the hands mentioned above at the showdown, the hand with the highest cards wins. If there are two or more poker players with high cards of the same value, the player with the highest following cards wins.

Example for high card:
jack, 10, 8, 7, 6
